Young Afrodity 1963

   The basis of the film is based on the subjects of the theological idyll of Theocritus (3rd century AD) and the classic text of Long “Daphnis and Chloe” (2nd century AD). Greek director Nikos Kundouros takes the audience to an unknown island where the locals live an idyllic life. While all the men of the village are at sea, a group of strangers (shepherds) descends from the mountains, and the young shepherd is captivated by the beauty of the local girl. Not knowing how to attract her attention, he brings her his prey - a dead pelican. The girl is intrigued, but not sure of the boy's feelings. By chance, children witness the forbidden love games of an older couple ...
