Nicholas is a young adventurous director. He arrives at an Indian village in the heart of Rio in the Xingu Valley with the aim of filming a documentary about an ancestral tribal ceremony, Kuarup. He falls in love with Luacema - the daughter of the leader of the tribe. By hook or by crook, a young man manages to settle in an Aboriginal village to get closer to the woman he secretly loves. Nicholas gradually merges into the daily life of the villagers. Unexpectedly, Nicholas learns that his beloved and all the locals are in danger - deforestation. The leader of the tribe enters the fight against the lumberjacks responsible for the devastation of forests that date back to the Paleozoic era. After several attempts to scare off the loggers, the chief realizes that Nicholas' camera is a formidable weapon that can help in the fight to save the forests. They leave together for Rio de Janeiro, where they hope to warn young people of the danger hanging over their environment and their future. Nicholas realizes that heroic power is transforming his unrequited love for Luacema into a desire to protect her loved ones. This Amazonian adventure becomes his life's goal and engages him in the fight against ignorance and reckless destruction throughout the world.
